INFO:
Here’s how your efforts are making a direct impact! When you report a smoke-emitting vehicle, the process begins with you sending the videos to us. We then forward these videos to KMC’s Environment Department, who work alongside the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) to collect the necessary details about the vehicle. KMC conducts an emission test on the identified vehicle. If the vehicle fails, action is taken immediately. Depending on the severity of the pollution level, KMC may seize the vehicle on the spot without issuing a warning letter. In some cases, a follow-up test will be conducted, and if the vehicle fails again, severe penalties are imposed, including hefty fines. This initiative is a powerful example of how public participation can drive real change. Keep sending in those videos and help us hold polluting vehicles accountable for cleaner air. Your involvement is key to making a difference in the fight against air pollution. Let’s continue to work together for a healthier, cleaner Kathmandu!
